Deep Tissue Trigger Point Therapy
OrthoDynamics is a non-invasive form of body work which effectively addresses structural pain, long term injuries and stress held in the body. It is a system of releasing the body’s trauma using trigger points and gentle body movement to realign the spine and posture.
OrthoDynamics is a conglomeration of techniques gained and adapted from over 40 years of bodywork practice by Geoff Beaty DN, MNHAA, and has a foundation of Orthobionomy, a technique developed by an Osteopath, Arthur Lincoln-Paulls (London).
OrthoDynamics is a very powerful technique that resolves painful muscle spasms and body holding patterns so that the “body mind” can begin to reassert the correct postural patterns without pain. The trigger points (which are stored pain & trauma) are located and isolated and pressure is applied to the muscles and fascia whilst positioning the body to mimic the position the original trauma occurred thereby reminding the “body mind” of the pain/trauma that has been “locked in” and release it gently. This is done along the spine, neck and around the shoulders but can be done anywhere on the body where there is trauma and stored pain.
Pain relief
OrthoDynamics can help relieve acute and chronic pain by releasing trigger-points, reducing muscle tension and restoring correct muscle function.
Improved muscle flexibility and range of motion
By releasing the trigger points in muscles and fascia it can help improve flexibility and range of motion.
Enhanced circulation
Applying pressure to trigger points can promote better blood flow to the affected area, which can help with tissue healing and reduce inflammation.
Improved posture
OrthoDynamics Trigger Point therapy can help release muscle holding patterns that contribute to poor posture. By addressing these issues, it may assist in improving overall posture and reducing related pain and discomfort.
Increased body awareness
As individuals receive trigger point bodywork, they may become more aware of areas of tension and discomfort in their bodies. This heightened awareness can lead to better self-care practices and lifestyle adjustments to prevent future issues.
Non-invasive approach
OrthoDynamics is a non-invasive and drug-free treatment option for pain relief, muscle dysfunction and postural problems.
Short-term results
Many people experience immediate relief from pain and tension after an OrthoDynamics session, making it a useful option for addressing acute pain and discomfort.
Enhances Chiropractic Care
OrthoDynamics can be used in conjunction with Chiropractic adjustments, especially if the adjustments are not holding.
It usually takes from 4 to 6 sessions to achieve significant postural changes but immediate reduction in pain is common. OrthoDynamics works most effectively if done in concert with a good, personalised movement therapy such as Pilates, Iyengar Yoga etc. so that the exercise and movement together with OrthoDynamics reawakens the original unrestricted movement patterns so that you do not fall back into the old patterns.
More serious problems can take longer.
